“EmPoMe - Expanding and Empowering the Mediation System in Albania”, December 2021 – January 2025, financed by the Austrian Development Agency.

The Project is implemented by the CSSP – Berlin Center for Integrative Mediation, in partnership with the National Chamber of Mediators (NCM) and the Albanian Foundation for Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation of Disputes (AFCR). It is a follow up of the previous intervention undertaken in 2018-2021 by CSSP and the partners, Ministry of Justice, NCM and AFCR, for Strengthening the Mediation System in Albania, supported by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and contribution from the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.

The project is focused on the following main pillars:

•    Increasing awareness of the public and institutions of the benefits of using mediation.

•    Enhancing the skills and capacities of mediators (to ensure a quality service);

•    Fostering the referral of cases from public and referring institution such as, among others, the Courts, Prosecution   
     Offices, Probation Service, Police, etc;

•    Strengthening the supervisory role of the Ministry of Justice.

•    Strengthening the National Chamber of Mediators.
