Call for Participants:Training Workshop on Conflict Resolution, Mediation, Restorative Practices and Campaign, Durres, Albania 10-11-12 April 2025
The training workshop on “Conflict Resolution, Mediation, Restorative Practices and Campaigning” that will be held in Durres Albania on 10-11-12 April 2025 is being organized as part of the project “Promoting restorative practices and mediation in conflict resolution among youth”. The project is implemented for a 6-month period by a consortium of three organizations, the Albanian Foundation for Conflict Resolution and Dispute Reconciliation – Albania (AFCR), the Women in Science Network – North Macedonia (NWS) and the Montenegrin ISKRA NGO – Montenegro (ISKRA), and it is supported through RYCO's 6th Open Call for CSO project proposals named "RYCOnnecting You(th)”.The project will contribute to empowering young people to promote peaceful conflict resolution, mediation and restorative practices among their peers, as well as their communities though two main components: 1. Capacity building for youth, and 2. Youth-led campaign promoting values of non-violent conflict management, restorative practices, dialogue and mediation. Overall, this would serve to nurture a more collaborative, compassionate society and at the same time equip the young people with important skills for dealing constructively with conflicts at a personal level, group and community level.
Description of the activityThe training aims at building the capacities of a core team of 24 persons (at least 20 young people from the targeted locations), in the area of peaceful conflict resolution approaches (mediation and restorative practices) and in undertaking a promotional campaign for mediation and restorative practices. After the training, the trained group will be actively engaged in the activities at local level and in leading the promotional campaign.
Costs: All costs related to the activity (travel, accommodation, meals) will be covered by the Project.
Language: The training will be held in English.
Eligibility:
* Open to youth from Albania, North Macedonia and Montenegro, particularly students from:
- Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Tirana, Albania;
- Faculty of Social Sciences and Faculty of Law, Mother Teresa University in Skopje, North Macedonia;
- Dormitory of Pupils and Students, Berane, Montenegro.
* Be between 18 – 30 years old
* Have a good level of English.
* Be willing to engage in follow-up project activities after the training.
We encourage to apply applicants from marginalized groups based on race, ethnicity (such as Roma, Ashkali, Egyptians, etc.), youth belonging to ethnic minority, youth with fewer opportunities, who did not have any opportunity to travel and participate in any similar projects, youth from rural/remote areas with limited or no access to social structures, youth services.
