Towards a comprehensive implementation of Justice for Children in Shkodra – An event held at “Shejnaze Juka” High School in Shkodra, on 25 May 2022

Local actors involved in the administration of juvenile justice, law enforcement, justice authorities, and responsible service providers operating in Shkodra, expressed their commitment to establish a local inter-institutional coordination mechanism for the implementation of the Code of Criminal Justice for Children and the Law on the Rights and Protection of the Child. Convened by Shkodra Municipality, these actors signed of a multilateral cooperation agreement setting out the undertaking by each institution.

The event was followed by a performance by a group of talented students from the “Shejnaze Juka” High School of a role-play on conflict resolution applying restorative justice method – an approach promoted by the Criminal Justice for Children Code. 

This activity was organized as part of the project "Strengthening interdisciplinary approaches in the management of cases of children in conflict or contact with the law," implemented by the Albanian Foundation for Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation of Disputes and the Center for Community Development "Today for the Future", supported by UNICEF Albania and the Government of the United Kingdom, and it is part of the Program "Transforming the National Response to Trafficking in Human Beings in and from Albania".
